Is it okay if you have no work experience?

Yes! If you feel like you don't have enough experience, that's normal. Start by acknowledging that you're at the beginning of your career. That means it's natural not to have heaps of experience - if you did, it wouldn't be the beginning.

Brit Network's research shows that experience matters less than you think

The good news? Employers understand your situation, and they're not expecting as much industry experience as you think.

In their annual research report, they discovered that there's a significant gap between what employers want and what students think employers want.

They found that students and graduates ranked existing industry experience as the number one factor they think employers value when choosing candidates.

When they spoke to employers, however, the employers ranked experience as #12 on the list. The number one factor was passion for the business, followed by resilience, problem-solving skills, commercial awareness and communication.
